This stunning lily, which is the essence of 'herbaceous', completely going to ground for the duration of winter and then emerging with the vigour of Spring.
We include this lily in our range because it has been used in Ayurveda and Yunani techniques of medicine for hundreds of years, but it is one that we have never used ourselves and feel that is is quite important to stress that all parts of the plant can have some toxic effects on the body.
Like many favoured garden plants of extreme beauty it has many common and folk names, such as: Flame lily, Isimiselo, Vlamlelie, Riri vavai-moa, Climbing-lily, Creeping-lily, Darwin Lily, Flame-lily, Glory-lily, Gloriosa lily, Tiger claw.
